If you are visiting Haarlem, Amsterdam or Groningen you are very close to the Dutch northern islands and the largest national park of Europe and World Heritage, the Wadden Sea.

One more thing before you go: there is a divine experience you can only have in the Wadden Sea during the low-tide season : hiking through the muddy bottom of the sea. Mudflat hiking in the Wadden Sea is the most incredible and unique experience you can while in the Netherlands.
